LEARN JAVA WITH MINECRAFT MAC OS X
Please note that in this tutorial series I will be using Windows 7 Home Premium to illustrate everything, as that is the most common OS, although these instructions should work almost equally as well in Windows 8 or even Windows Vista, and with some adaptation in Mac OS X as well.Ĭlick on the link above to download the JDK, accept the license agreement, then download the appropriate package for your operating system. Although I know you're probably a bit impatient to get coding right away, I'd rather make sure your environment is set up properly so that you can code, rather than wondering why nothing is working quite right.
LEARN JAVA WITH MINECRAFT HOW TO
Hey guys, Tux2 here, and I've just decided to start doing a series on how to make plugins! Now, you may ask why I'm not doing it as a video, and here's why: I dislike having to watch a video on everything new I want to learn as I would rather just read about it, then do it, so that's the style of approach I'm going to be taking (for now). HTML Learning Java: Bukkit Style - Part 1 (Or how to program a minecraft plugin) by Tux2.Just remember, though, JavaScript is a different thing than Java, so you obviously won't learn Java at CodeAcademy, yet, if you take the JavaScript tutorial, it will give you a basic understanding of things like if statements, for loops, while loops, and switch statements.Learning Java: Bukkit Style - Part 1 (Or how to program a minecraft plugin) by Tux2 If you have no understanding in coding at ALL, I recommend you take a couple tutorials at CodeAcademy on JavaScript, as it's one of the most simple and easy to learn programing languages (in my opinion), and it's the first language I learned. If you have only Java questions, or any other code-related questions, then this is definitely the place to go. Then, you could take a look at Bukkit's official plugin tutorial.Īfter that, you should just Google what you don't know, and use the Bukkit forums under Plugin Development or the Spigot forums under Plugin Development, as questions on Bukkit get more attention there then they do here. It is for beginners, I watched only the first 20 episodes. To learn java, theres a nice YouTube tutorial by TheNewBoston.

Here is how I learned to code Bukkit plugins (It would be very helpful if you had a basic understanding of things like loops and if statements in other languages)
